Vintage St. Peregrine Italian medal necklace with gold filled paperclip chain and accented with a small dainty cross and a gold filled CZ charm.
St. Peregrine is the patron saint of those who suffer from cancer. One of Peregrine’s slogans was: “Better today than yesterday, better tomorrow than today!” Daily he sought to become a more religious man eventually becoming a sought after priest because he was always eager to give advice and help others who needed him. A few years after becoming a priest he grew a cancerous growth in his right foot that hurt so bad he agreed with a local doctor he needed to amputate his foot. He prayed for several hours the night before his procedure and then he dozed off and dreamt that Christ was touching him and healing his foot. The dream woke him up. In the dim moonlight he saw that his foot, carefully bandaged a few hours earlier was completely healed. The Church later appointed him patron of persons with cancer, foot ailments, or any incurable disease.
