Do you start a new year by looking back or looking forward? A new year may just be time striking midnight once more and may not be anything special for most. But during the winter season we go into an inward transition of staying inside more, changing with the season. It’s a time to find inspiration and purpose and to shed our old skin and prepare for a new time in our lives. When putting this collection together I was very reflective of my own changes happening in my life.

I often see symbols and numbers that align with the time of my life and remind me that I’m on the right path. Lately I’ve been incorporating butterflies and snakes into my work. Both butterflies and snakes are symbols of change, shedding their skin and emerging as something else. Along with this theme I have been really drawn to moonstone, labradorite and turquoise. Moonstone represents inner clarity, cyclical change, and a connection to the feminine. Labradorite is considered a tremendously spiritual stone, especially helpful for people who tend to overwork. It helps an individual regain energy while aiding  the body and spirit in healing itself. Turquoise is said to be mood-stabilizing and can help with exhaustion. I created the “Rebirth” collection as a reflection for these symbols and stones I hold near and dear.
