From rough stone to finished silver, this one-of-a-kind pendant was created entirely by our hands. My husband and I personally found the turquoise, and he hand-cut and shaped the stone to preserve its incredible natural character. The finished cabochon has a dreamy mix of vibrant turquoise blue and earthy golden-brown matrix, giving it the look of a tiny landscape formed by nature.
I set the stone by hand in sterling silver, surrounding it with twisted rope detailing and delicate sterling silver flowers at the top and bottom. The oxidized finish brings out every little detail while giving the piece an heirloom-inspired, well-loved feel.
More than just a turquoise necklace, this piece carries the story of where it came from—from finding the rough stone together, to cutting it by hand, to its final transformation at my silversmithing bench.
